JBM Industries replacement guides are made to draw down to
the machine. Small wings on the sides cover any gap between
the guide and the original extrusion. These wings also help
retain the old extrusion and hold it down.
Price for these guides is only $30.00 each ( Lifetime Guarantee )
A drill jig installation kit with drills is $16 and will install as many guides
as you want. Kit comes with detailed installation instructions.
To install, remove the blower assembly held by the 4 screws.
Next, remove the screw and any metal plate from the old guide.
Drill out the existing hole with a 7/32 drill. Best to use a low speed electric drill for this. Old glue can be
removed with 000 fine steel wool and Acetone, paint thinner, or MEK.
Place the locating pin in the drill jig into the enlarged 7/32 hole as shown.
Align the jig to "center" on the old molding as shown. Then, drill a second hole "spot" with a 7/32 drill. Just
"spot" the hole as shown to get location of 1.400 inch. Do NOT drill through using the jig.
TIP: Use a 3/8 inch nut driver to install, but tie a retrieval string around it in case you drop it.
After spotting, drill the hole through. Place one
washer on the front stud as shown. This stud can
then be drawn down tight.
Using washers and nyloc nuts provided, draw down
the second stud until fit looks correct. Do not distort
the rubber.
